Of Cakes and The Fine Art of Procrasination.

Double Layer Chocolate Cake

Between churning out pizzas, hitting the gym, the odd housekeeping chore and doing practically everything under the sun, here’s just one other thing I got up to instead of studying (In my defense, I can’t help it! The kitchen lures me in and has me wrapped around her little finger every time I go anywhere near it. Besides, looming exams or not, life goes on right? /end of trying to appease my very guilty conscience.)

On a completely separate note- I have to make this cake again and actually have a slice of it once that exam’s over. As far as chocolate cakes go, it’s the most perfect and least finicky cake I’ve ever made- so much so I have to admit I had some issues parting with it. And from the cake crumbs and swipes of frostings I had, it’s a pretty delicious one at that!

Recipe to come when I do make it again and have a proper post done up, promise.

  1. This is the kind of cake I will love to eat! You have just inspired me to make something like this for my boy’s birthday. Knowing him, he will love this chocolate cake with such delicious frosting, but he will probably say no thanks to the pretty flowers though. Just as well, since I don’t have any skills to pipe such beautiful roses ;)

Hey Ellie :) I’ll get down to baking the cake and posting the recipe after the exam this weekend asap!
