I’ve been eagerly awaiting a package from Amazon- it has been five weeks and counting- so when the SpeedPost van pulled up in front of my house, even before the delivery guy parked and got out of the van, i was standing on the porch trying to contain my excitement.
The minute i saw the parcel, i knew something was a little off- the package was elongated, unlike that of the rectangularish trademark Amazon box. As it turns out, the package was even better than the Amazon package i had been expecting. It was a Christmas parcel from my baby sister all the way from Milan!

The parcel was quickly ripped opened- there was so much stuff in it! There was something for everyone- clothes for my mum, brother and me, figs for my dad and plenty of chocolates and wafers to around.

There were chocolate and butter wafers from Belgium, sardine and tuna pate that she picked up in Portugal- apparently they serve them with bread in the cafes there- and buttery rolled wafers.

Much to my delight, there was a ton of chocolate like the newly launched Ferrero, Baci- apparently Italy’s best and most iconic chocolate- a bar of dark Kit Kat which i loved, a bar of white Twix- limited edition in Europe- giotto, which are long sticks of Ferrero chocolate from Germany, Delights by Mars and some Galler Belgium chocolate.

Being the sweetheart that she is, my baby sister picked up a couple bars of chocolate from a supermarket in Belgium, after seeing the locals buy half dozens of them at a shot. She also included a few bars of vanilla wafers- supposedly Vienna’s most iconic sweets- a bar of orange chocolate, mini swiss rolls and two chocolate Happy Hippos that unfortunately arrived looking like a couple of really squashed hippos.
That’s about it for the very sweet- both literally and figuratively speaking- package my sister sent but that’s not all we had to add to our now very huge stash of sweets and junk food.

Being the brat that i am in every sense of the word, J came back from the US with more chocolate for me.
I was so excited when i saw the jumbo bag of Reese buttercups- one of the first things i bought when i landed in Boston was a bag of buttercups, soo good! I have yet to try the Ghirardelli squares but judging by the bar of 72% cacao chocolate i brought back from my trip in May and totally swooned over, they are bound to out of this world. The 72% is easily one of the best chocolate i’ve ever had and one i’ll be happy to fork out an arm and a foot for to get them shipping to Singapore. Thanks sooo much, babe!
With all the treats we’ve got plus the never ending deliveries of Christmas hampers that have been finding their way to our house, it looks like it’s gonna be one very sweet Christmas and we are well set for a sugar high to tide us in the new year!
Have a great Christmas, everyone!
